Indirectly, our Sijan is named after someone else.
Lance P. Sijan. Here is why.
Lance
Sijan was the first USAF Academy graduate to win the
Congressional Medal Of Honor. He lost his life
after a heroic effort as a POW during the Vietnam

To
honor his memory, the Air Force named an academy
cadet dormitory Sijan Hall. That is where Jenn
& Scott met, became great friends, and eventually
more than friends. We spent four unbelievable
years of our lives in Sijan Hall, and now look
forward to many more years with Sijan the kid.
Nickolas is actually named after Jennifer.
She was thought to be a he, and he was to be
Nickolas LUdwig Von trost, after her grandfather on
her dad's side. Alas, (and lucky for me), he
was a she, and Nickolas skipped a genereation.
